Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to travel across CT home visits in Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, and Wilton, delivering high-quality care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

You will perform treatment, provide exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving well-being while following the established plan of care, with opportunities to grow within the Optum family and Patient Care teams.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed to practice physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Weekend rotation availability.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws and the supervising PT’s plan of care; perform only procedures you are qualified to perform and suggest changes when needed.
• Instruct and assist patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADLs, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses; coordinate care with other health care team members.
• Instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapy within PTA scope.
• Function in diverse home settings and with patients of all backgrounds.
