Job summary

Optum is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to travel within Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk and Wilton, CT, delivering high-quality home care under a supervising Physical Therapist. The PTA will implement treatment plans, educate patients and families, and coordinate with the health care team to support patients’ mobility, safety and independence in their homes.

Qualifications

Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in physical therapy in state of practice.
Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
Available to work a weekend rotation.
CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Follow state-specific laws governing home PT and work only within supervising PT's plan of care.
Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, and mobility training.
Observes and reports patient responses; coordinates care with the healthcare team.
Educates patient, family, caregiver, and others within the PTA scope.
Adapt to home settings for diverse clients and conditions.
