Job summary

Med-Metrix in Florida seeks a Patient Advocate Floater to help uninsured and underinsured patients access financial aid from state programs, hospital assistance programs, and SSI/SSDI. You will complete applications, gather documentation, and coordinate with agencies to ensure patients receive needed support.

The role requires travel between East Florida locations, including Daytona Beach, DeLand, New Smyrna Beach, Orange City, Palm Coast, and Tavares.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare-related degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish (spoken and written) a plus.
• Must have reliable transportation for on-site attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with applications for Medical Assistance, hospital charity care, and SSI/SSDI.
• Interview patients at bedside and in the ER to assess eligibility and gather information.
• Identify eligibility and collect required documentation.
• Submit and track applications with local assistance offices.
• Provide support for Marketplace insurance when applicable.
• Maintain accurate records and meet productivity goals.
• Verify and update insurances.
• Use, protect and disclose PHI per HIPAA standards.
• Understand and comply with information security and HIPAA policies.
