Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires four years of college with coursework in accounting, business administration, bookkeeping or related field and two years of related professional experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Illinois Reciprocity/Prorate laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of financial auditing and accounting principles.
• Ability to train and direct novice auditors.
• Clear and accurate written and oral communication.
• Valid Illinois driver's license.
• Willingness to travel extensively in the United States and Canada.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Travels to Illinois, other U.S. states and Canada to audit mileage records and carrier accounting systems.
• Interprets registration plans including reciprocity, prorate and IRP to ensure compliance.
• Prepares detailed audit working papers and electronic reports for jurisdictions and registrants.
• Responds to questions from audits and may testify at administrative hearings as required.
• Assists with training of new personnel to ensure policy compliance.
