The Oregon Department of Transportation seeks a Compliance Specialist 2 – Motor Carrier Auditor in Umatilla to independently audit tax, registration, IRP and IFTA compliance by reviewing carrier records. You will interview drivers, explain regulations, and recommend action when warranted.

Travel ~25% for field audits; hybrid work option with manager approval. Minimum qualifications include four years of administrative research experience; driving is required with a valid US license and clean

• Experience using investigative skills and analytical judgement to draw conclusions from data sources.
• Experience creating spreadsheets and using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with groups from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience organizing a multi-step workload efficiently.

Aufgaben

• Organize, examine and analyze carrier mileage and fuel records to verify tax reports.
• Investigate incomplete carrier records when needed.
• Research and interpret laws, rules and international agreements for compliance purposes.
• Assess under or over-reported taxes and impose penalties for non-compliance.
• Document audit findings clearly and concisely.
• Travel is required approximately 25% for field audits; hybrid work options available.
