Job summary

Metso is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Field Services team in Salt Lake City, UT. You will perform field repairs, welding, equipment installation support and technical expertise for mining customers across the industry.

This role requires ~85% travel to customer mines and Metso locations and reports to Field Service Managers. You will join a skilled team focused on safety, reliability and uptime, delivering expert field services and driving equipment performance while

Qualifications

• 2+ years of millwright, mechanical maintenance, welding, mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens and mills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Welding certifications and field welding experience are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, commission and upgrade mining and mineral processing equipment.
• Provide technical support during demolition, installation, startup and commissioning.
• Perform millwright work including gear alignment and mill change-outs.
• Welding, cutting, fabrication and repair in mining and heavy industrial environments.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct precise measurements and alignments using specialized tools.
• Maintain service documentation, reports and client communications.
• Collaborate with customers, contractors and internal teams to ensure project success.
