Job summary

McGough Construction seeks an experienced MEP-Cx Superintendent to lead planning, coordination, execution and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and related systems on complex projects across Ellendale, ND, Center, ND, and Odessa, TX.

The role involves hands-on technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and supporting business development while ensuring schedule, budget, quality and client expectations are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in MEP engineering, design, operations, or construction management.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, controls and specialty systems.
• Experience with complex projects such as mission critical facilities or hospitals.
• Understanding of scheduling, procurement, and commissioning.
• Ability to communicate across organizational levels and to non-technical audiences.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre-construction tasks and field leadership for McGough staff and subs.
• Oversee project schedule and coordinate with project team to keep it updated.
• Develop RFIs, track procurement, and close MEP issues.
• Complete Level 1–3 commissioning documentation.
• Support Ready for Energization reviews of equipment and systems.
• Promote safety and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Build relationships with clients, design teams and subcontractors.
• Participate in Lean initiatives and Operational Excellence.
