Job summary

Leapros Skilled Trades seeks an experienced Medium Voltage Electrician for a contract role in Southaven, MS. The candidate will support data center builds, travel extensively, and work on 12.47/13.8/34.5 kV systems with per diem and housing provided.

Requirements include 5+ years MV construction at 5 kV+, 15 kV/35 kV terminations, NFPA 70E/OSHA 1910.269 knowledge, and willingness to travel 80% or more on project rotations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on electrical construction experience at 5 kV and above.
• Documented 15 kV/35 kV terminations.
• Reading and interpreting MV one-lines and drawings.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, arc-flash protocols.

Responsibilities

• Travel with internal teams to active data center sites and move between locations.
• Install and terminate 15 kV/35 kV cables using approved methods.
• Install MV switchgear, transformer step-up, duct banks, raceways for 12.47–34.5 kV.
• Connect control wiring for MV systems and equipment.
• Assist hipot, VLF, insulation-resistance testing with commissioning teams.
• Work near live MV buses under switching orders, cleanings, lockout/tagout.
• Read MV one-lines and termination drawings; produce as-builts and tests.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269 and safety standards.
