Job summary

Tradesmen International is hiring experienced Industrial Electricians for projects around DeSoto County, MS. This first shift role offers $40-$60/hour plus $160/day per diem for travelers 60+ miles from site. You will install, test, and Commission MV systems, read diagrams, and work with engineers and teams on safety-compliant projects.

Minimum 5 years' hands-on MV experience and a state Journeyman license are preferred. Travel up to 80% may be required; overtime is common in construction phases.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical construction experience at 5 kV and above.
  • Experience installing and terminating 15 kV and/or 35 kV cable.
  • Ability to read medium-voltage one-line diagrams, cable schedules, and termination drawings.
  • Willingness to travel 80% or more and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and commission MV electrical systems up to 34.5 kV.
  • Install MV switchgear, GSUs, cable, duct bank, and control wiring.
  • Travel to project locations per schedule and ensure safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and contractors on site.

Description

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Industrial Electricians for projects located in or around DeSoto County, MS. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $40-$60/hour based on experience plus $160/day per diem for Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:
  • Install, terminate, test, and commission medium-voltage electrical systems operating at 12.47 kV, 13.8 kV, and 34.5 kV
  • Install e-house medium-voltage switchgear (MVSG), generator step-up transformers (GSUs), medium-voltage cable, duct bank, and associated control wiring
  • Pull, rack, land, and terminate 15 kV and 35 kV cable using approved terminations and stress cones
  • Install medium-voltage duct banks, manholes, raceways, and underground distribution systems
  • Support hipot, VLF, insulation-resistance, and related testing procedures
  • Work adjacent to energized medium-voltage systems while following switching orders, clearances, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Read and interpret one-line diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings, and electrical blueprints
  • Prepare as-built drawings, testing documentation, and commissioning records
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, commissioning teams, and operations personnel
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and all project safety requirements
  • Participate in constructability reviews and provide field feedback to improve designs
  • Travel to project locations as construction schedules and project demands require
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical construction experience at 5 kV and above
  • Experience installing and terminating 15 kV and/or 35 kV cable
  • Experience installing medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, GSUs, and related equipment
  • Ability to read medium-voltage one-line diagrams, cable schedules, and termination drawings
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, lockout/tagout procedures, switching operations, and electrical clearances
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments while wearing required PPE
  • Ability to travel 80% or more as required by project needs
  • Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, and extended shifts during construction and commissioning phases
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Manufacturer terminator qualification cards for 15 kV and/or 35 kV systems
  • State Journeyman Electrician License
  • Lineman or Substation qualifications
  • Data center or industrial campus medium-voltage construction experience
  • Experience working around energized 15 kV and 35 kV systems
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Additional NFPA 70E and OSHA 1910.269 training
