Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Falls Church-area medical centers are seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses and allied staff in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves preparing patients for exams, rooming, histories, and assisting with scheduling and follow-up visits.

Travel up to 100% within the primary zone (Falls Church, Alexandria, Springfield, Tysons Corner) is required. The assistant works under physician supervision, performs basic clinical tasks, documents in KP

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program with phlebotomy training.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certifications and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician by preparing patients for exams.
• Perform rooming, histories and screening for patient population.
• Carry out clinical tasks and procedures under supervision.
• Set up patient for virtual visit and manage rooms.
• Document care and actions in KP HealthConnect.
• Monitor patient flow to minimize wait times.
• Assist with inventory and supply needs in the clinic.
• Administer medications per policy and delegates appropriately.
• Perform basic diagnostic and laboratory tests per CLIA rules.
• Travel up to 100% within the float pool as required.
