Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and care teams in an ambulatory clinic. You will prepare patients, perform rooming and screening tasks, and assist with virtual visits under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include documenting care in KP HealthConnect, maintaining room readiness, and assisting with inventory. Strong communication and teamwork are essential; ped/OBGYN support may be needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with phlebotomy training.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• National certifications in Medical Assisting (NCCT CMA, CMA, CCMA, RMA, or AAMA CMA) accepted.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in delivering comprehensive patient care in ambulatory clinics.
• Prepare patients for examinations and take histories.
• Perform rooming, screening, and basic clinical tasks under supervision.
• Set up patients for virtual visits and manage room turnover.
• Document care in KP HealthConnect and monitor patient flow to reduce wait times.
• Assist with inventory and ensure exam rooms are stocked.
• Support pediatrics and OB/GYN needs as required.
• Administer medications per policy using the five rights.
