Job summary

Diamond Peak Recruiting is seeking a Traveling Mechanical Project Manager to lead large HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects across the United States. You will own mechanical scopes valued at $40M+ and coordinate with owners, general contractors, design teams, and subcontractors to drive successful delivery.

You will manage budgets, schedules, procurement, risk, and change orders from preconstruction through turnover, while guiding field leadership, BIM/VDC, and fabrication teams.

Qualifications

• PM or Senior PM with commercial/industrial mechanical contractor experience.
• Strong financial management and forecasting ability.
• Experience managing procurement, subcontractors, vendors, and field execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead large mechanical projects from preconstruction through turnover.
• Own HVAC, piping, plumbing scopes valued at $40M+.
• Manage budgets, cost forecasts, commitments, change orders, billing, and risk.
• Coordinate with field leadership on manpower planning, sequencing, productivity, logistics.
• Collaborate with General Contractors, owners, design teams, subs, vendors, and internal leadership.
• Lead procurement of major equipment, piping systems, and long lead materials.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change management, and project scheduling impacts.
• Participate in preconstruction, estimating handoff, constructability reviews, and scope development.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and milestone tracking.
• Coordinate complex HVAC, piping, hydronic, and specialty systems.
• Work with BIM, VDC, engineering, prefabrication, and fabrication teams.
• Identify risks early and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
