Job summary

TEKsystems in Atlanta, GA is seeking a contract Technician to coordinate daily tasks with the Foreman, install and test 40ft+ cabling, and supervise crews on large distribution center builds. This 100% travel role offers OT, strong benefits, and steady opportunities to lead diverse installation projects.

Ideal candidates have 25+ years of low-voltage experience, strong Cat6 and fiber skills, and the ability to work independently or with small crews in warehouse environments.

Qualifications

• 25+ years of low-voltage or data cabling experience
• Strong Cat6 and fiber termination and testing skills
• Experience with paging, wireless/AP cabling, CCTV, and access control cabling
• Ability to read prints and work with minimal supervision
• Comfortable working at height and in large warehouse environments
• Ability to work independently or support small crews
• Proficient with smartphones, email, and basic spreadsheets
• Basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
• Valid drivers license with clean driving record
• Willingness to travel extensively and work 50-60 hour weeks

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test Cat6 and fiber cabling
• Perform paging, wireless/AP cabling, CCTV, and access control cabling
• Lead and support small crews of 24 technicians as a working lead when assigned
• Build and dress MDFs, IDFs, racks, patch panels, and cable management
• Install cable pathways including J-hooks, ladder rack, innerduct, and tray
• Operate boom and scissor lifts (40+ ft work)
• Troubleshoot cabling and system issues
• Ensure cables are neatly dressed, labeled, and installed per standards
• Provide daily progress updates to the Lead or Foreman
• Follow all safety, quality, and site requirements

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
