Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, and may oversee a small crew of Helpers, Apprentices or other J1’s. The role covers installation, alteration and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment.

Qualified candidates will have 5–7 years of electrical construction experience and the ability to read project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of electrical construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong safety mindset and willingness to work overtime/weekends.
• Able to lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices.
• Possess basic mathematical ability and basic mechanical aptitude.
• Must have all required tools and be able to use them.
• Team-player mentality with good communication and decision-making.
• Willingness to participate in field training, including OJT or classroom-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
