Job summary

Gallaher Signature Living seeks a Traveling Interim Executive Director to provide executive leadership across California communities, overseeing vacancies, openings, and transitions with hospitality-driven standards.

The role requires guiding resident safety, regulatory compliance (Title 22, RCFE), financial oversight, and building durable relationships with staff, regulators, and families. Travel is 10-days-on/4-days-off across the state.

Qualifications

• Current and active California RCFE Administrator certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of Executive Director or senior leadership experience in senior living.
• Experience leading California RCFE communities.
• Strong working knowledge of California Title 22 regulations, RCFE licensing requirements, survey processes, resident safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience assuming leadership during transitions, vacancies, or periods of change is preferred.
• Able to travel extensively across Northern and Southern California and manage 10-days-on / 4-days-off schedules.

Responsibilities

• Serve as acting Executive Director and senior leader during vacancies, leaves, vacations, transitions, new builds, or other periods requiring executive coverage.
• Assess community operations, leadership needs, regulatory status, staffing, and financial performance.
• Provide hands-on executive leadership while maintaining mission, values, and high brand standards.
• Ensure exceptional resident and family experiences and respond to concerns.
• Lead and hold department directors and community teams accountable.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and transition of permanent leadership when appropriate.
• Oversee budgeting, financial controls, occupancy, revenue, expenses, and labor management.
