Job summary

Gallaher Signature Living seeks a Traveling Interim Executive Director to provide interim leadership across Northern and Southern California communities. The role requires RCFE certification, 5+ years of executive leadership in senior living, and the ability to travel on a 10-days-on / 4-days-off cycle.

The position oversees operations, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and resident experience, stepping in for vacancies, new builds, or transitions.

Qualifications

• Current and active California RCFE Administrator certification is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of Executive Director or senior leadership experience in senior living; multi-site experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California Title 22 regulations and RCFE licensing processes.
• Financial and operational leadership including budgeting, occupancy, and P&L accountability.
• Ability to travel extensively across Northern and Southern California on a 10-days-on/4-days-off schedule.

Responsibilities

• Serve as acting Executive Director and lead operations during vacancies, leaves, or transitions.
• Assess community operations, regulatory status, staffing, resident experience, and financial performance.
• Provide visible, hands-on leadership while upholding brand standards and hospitality focus.
• Ensure high-touch resident and family experience and address concerns.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, development, and transitions of permanent leadership when appropriate.
• Maintain budgeting, occupancy, revenue, expenses, and labor management oversight.
• Collaborate with Sales/Marketing to support occupancy goals and move-ins.
• Ensure compliance with Title 22 RCFE regulations and related standards.
• Coordinate regulatory readiness and licensing visits, surveys, and inspections.
• Partner with clinical leadership to ensure resident safety and quality outcomes.
• Lead during emergencies and ensure safety culture across communities.
• Provide effective communication with GSL leadership and operational teams.
