Job summary

Southwest Concrete Paving is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to travel with a paving crew and perform maintenance and repairs on concrete paving equipment across the western United States. Must read schematics and diagnose issues, with willingness to travel up to 100% and work diverse shifts.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical problems, ordering parts, and performing routine services.

Qualifications

• 1+ year as Heavy Equipment Mechanic (required).
• Experience on dump trucks and mixers preferred.
• Must have safe driving record and be willing to travel 100%.
• DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe practices in all daily activities.
• Diagnose/troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately.
• Identify parts needed for repairs and read schematics/blueprints to assist repairs.
• Remove, replace, and repair major components on paving and heavy construction equipment.
• Perform routine services on heavy equipment.
• Communicate with equipment operators to assess machine performance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
