Job summary

J.E. Shurden Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Site Supervisor to lead field operations on projects across the United States.

This travel-based role requires extended stays at project locations and the willingness to be away from home for multiple days or weeks. Responsibilities include directing heavy civil crews, coordinating subcontractors and equipment, planning schedule sequences, and ensuring quality and safety per plans and specs.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field crews on heavy civil projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Proven reading and interpretation of construction plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise heavy civil construction crews and daily field operations.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and daily work activities.
• Plan and sequence work to maintain project schedules and productivity.
• Monitor work for quality and compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate excavation, grading, underground utility, concrete, and other activities.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor attendance, performance, productivity, and timekeeping.
• Communicate progress, delays, and needs to leadership.
• Enforce safety requirements and PPE on site.
