Job summary

J.E. Shurden Construction LLC seeks an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Site Supervisor to lead field operations on projects across the United States. This travel-based role requires extended stays at project locations and frequent relocation to support multiple sites.

You will oversee crews, manage safety, quality, and schedules, coordinate subs and equipment, and ensure compliance with plans and specs while traveling to demanding project environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy civil construction leadership roles.
• Experience leading field crews and coordinating equipment and activities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home for extended periods.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise heavy civil construction crews and daily field operations.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and daily work activities.
• Plan and sequence work to maintain project schedules and productivity.
• Monitor work for quality and compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate excavation, grading, underground utility, concrete, and other heavy civil activities.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and timekeeping.
• Communicate project progress, delays, material needs, and field concerns to leadership.
• Enforce safety requirements, including PPE, and conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Report injuries, incidents, equipment issues, and significant jobsite concerns.
