Job summary

Siemens Mobility is hiring a Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, start-up and commission state-of-the-art fire alarm equipment across the SE region, with travel up to 75% to Orlando and surrounding areas.

You will interact with customers, schedule start-ups, and assist in training while ensuring safety policies are followed. A NICET Level I certification within 12 months is required or pursued.

Qualifications

  • Electro-mechanical experience through professional experience and/or education.
  • Ability to operate around mechanical and electrical equipment and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must differentiate wire types and colors.
  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I within 12 months.
  • Must be 18+ with a valid driver's license and eligibility for Siemens fleet vehicle program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • As a Fire Alarm Technician, participate in testing, verification, and acceptance; run reports and support AHJ.
  • Assist in customer training and provide plan documents for as-built drawings; identify code/non-conformance issues.
  • Coordinate site communications and scheduling to align start-up services with safety policies.

Our Fire AlarmSystemsTechnicians are responsible fortheinstallation, programming, start-up, and commissioning ofstate-of-the‑artfire alarm equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals.Our Fire AlarmTechniciansare the face of Siemens,and yourexpertiseand regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings andoccupantssafe.

As aFire Alarm Technician, you will:
  • Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance:run routine reports to review system operation, conduct final inspections and testing, and support customer acceptance and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Assistin customer training on system operations and provide necessary plans and fire safety system documents for as-built drawings;identifycode and non-conformance issues and makerecommendations for system installation
  • Conductprojectsitecommunication andcoordinationbysupportingscheduling trade contractors to coordinate start-up services and adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • E lectro-mechanical experience ( either through pr ofessional experience and/or education)
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
  • Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire
  • Musthave orobtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I within 12 months
  • Must be18years of age and possessa valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

PreferredQualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associatedegree in electronics or related field
  • 1+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
  • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents
