Job summary

Siemens Mobility is hiring a Fire Alarm Technician in Plano, Texas, to install, program, start-up, and commission state-of-the-art fire alarm equipment. You will interact with customers to ensure safe buildings and systems, while supporting field operations and documentation.

The role requires 1+ year of experience in fire alarm installations, NICET II within 12 months, and a valid US driver’s license. The position is on-site with opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience installing and/or maintaining commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Ability to differentiate wire types/colors; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; lift up to 75 pounds.
  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level II within 12 months is required.
  • Must be 18+ and have a valid driver's license with limited violations; eligible for Siemens fleet vehicle program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance: run routine reports, inspections, testing, and support AHJ acceptance.
  • Assist in customer training on system operations and provide necessary documents for as-built drawings; identify code and non-conformance issues.
  • Coordinate site communications by scheduling trade contractors for start-up services and ensure compliance with safety policies.

Our Fire AlarmSystemsTechnicians are responsible fortheinstallation, programming, start-up, and commissioning ofstate-of-the-artfire alarm equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals. Our Fire AlarmTechniciansare the face of Siemens,and yourexpertiseand regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings andoccupantssafe.

As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will:
  • Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance:run routine reports to review system operation, conduct final inspections and testing, and support customer acceptance and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Assistin customer training on system operations and provide necessary plans and fire safety system documents for as-built drawings;identifycode and non-conformance issues and makerecommendations for system installation
  • Conductprojectsitecommunication andcoordinationbysupportingscheduling trade contractors to coordinate start-up services and adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications:
  • 1+yearsofexperiencein the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
  • Must bewilling and able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
  • Musthave orobtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification LevelIIwithin 12 months
  • Must be18years of age and possessa valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associatedegree in electronics or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
  • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents
