Job summary

Siemens Mobility in the Washington DC area seeks a Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician to service and maintain commercial fire alarm systems. You will inspect and test components, ensure compliance with customer requirements, and train junior staff on the job.

You will interact with customers, document activities, and help keep buildings safe. Strong focus on code adherence and reliable system performance across our Smart Buildings portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Must be willing and able to differentiate wire types/colors and use basic tools and devices.
  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 required; Level 2 within 12 months preferred.
  • Able to read and understand design/construction documents.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
  • Create detailed test and inspection reports per code requirements and customer needs.
  • Respond to and repair system issues to maintain functionality; report status and actions.
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues and ensure standards are met.
  • Quote small repairs and provide parts/labor details for estimators.
  • Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to coordinate tasks.

Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technicians

play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems . You will ensure that components are inspected, tested, operated , and maintained according to the operational requirements of the customer . In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team. Our Fire Alarm Service Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

As a Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician, you will:
  • Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
  • Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs
  • Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs tomaintainsystem functionality. Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material
  • Identifycode and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards
  • Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed partsand labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects
  • Plan work with Lead Technicians andSupervisorsto strategize tasks effectively
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years ofexperience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
  • Must bewilling andable to differentiate types/colors of wire,use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet,carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
  • Must have a NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1
  • Must be able todemonstratethe ability to read/understand design and construction documents
  • Must be 18 years of age andpossessa valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements toparticipatein Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 2 within 12 months

The pay range for this position is $68,401 - $117,259 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
