Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Fremont, CA is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to install, program, start-up and commission state-of-the-art fire alarm systems for commercial buildings.

You’ll collaborate with customers, perform testing and provide necessary documentation while following safety policies and schedules. Basic qualifications include 1+ year in installation/maintenance, NICET I & II within 12 months, and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in installation/maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems.
• Ability to differentiate wire colors/types and use basic tools and devices.
• NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I and II within 12 months.
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Our Fire Alarm Systems Technicians are responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art fire alarm equipment, including fire safety, mass notification, detectors, and field peripherals. Our Fire Alarm Technicians are the face of Siemens,and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and occupants safe.

As aFire Alarm Technician, you will:

• Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, Acceptance, and Installation: run routine reports to review system operation, conduct final inspections and testing, installation, system programming, and support customer acceptance and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
• Assist in customer training on system operations and provide necessary plans and fire safety system documents for as-built drawings; identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation
• Conduct project site communication and coordination by supporting scheduling trade contractors to coordinate start-up services and adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
• Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
• Must have or obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level I and II within 12 months
• Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field
• 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
• Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

The pay range for this position is $61,547 - $105,509 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
