Job summary

Ameritech Contracting is seeking a Field Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to advance health and safety standards across all assigned operations. The SSHO will promote the Accident Prevention Plan and Corporate Safety Program, perform inspections, audits, training, and investigate incidents to elevate safety culture on the project.

The role requires on-site presence with subcontractors, coordination with project managers, and mentoring of field personnel to ensure compliance with ACE EM 385,

Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification updated within last 5 years.
• Minimum five (5) years of construction safety experience within the last 10 years.
• Three (3) years of construction safety experience with CSP or CSHT certifications is acceptable.
• Degree in safety and health from an accredited university or college.

Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent safety inspections of the site and subcontractors’ operations.
• Coordinate with project management and report findings weekly to ACE Contracting Officer Representative.
• Be on-site during excavation/trenching to monitor safety and permit completion.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety meetings; conduct training as required.
• Assist with Medical Surveillance programs and safety documentation/reporting.
• Mentor field personnel and subcontractor staff on safety practices.
