Job summary

Conti Federal is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to lead safety initiatives on our federal construction projects. You will oversee SH&E programs, implement Site Safety and Health Plans, and analyze trends to improve on-site safety across teams.

You will coordinate with project management to deliver training, inspections, and documentation, while ensuring regulatory compliance and worker protection. This role requires travel and a strong safety background.

Qualifications

• US citizen required for security clearance.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Card valid within past 5 years.
• Currently certified as a First Aid/CPR Provider or Instructor.
• Minimum 24 hours of safety/occupational health training in past 5 years.
• Five+ years of safety experience on comparable projects.
• BCSP safety certifications (CHST/OHST/ASP/SMP/CSP).
• Strong teamwork, communication, analytical, time management and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops trends analysis based on incidents and recommends safety improvements.
• Delivers weekly safety talks with relevant content.
• Establishes relationships with clients and inspectors.
• Maintains project documentation: daily reports, audits, meetings, investigations, SDS, training, medical surveillance.
• Ensures personnel have required safety training and equipment.
• Coaches on safety matters to promote safe, productive behavior.
• Works to identify hazards via Activity Hazard Analysis and develop safe work plans.
• Collaborates with Foremen to develop Take 5 Daily Safety Checklist and communicates hazards.
• Implements Site Safety and Health Plans on site.
• Researches safety supplies and equipment for best quality and price.
• Monitors safety performance via inspections and analyses; recommends corrective actions.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations at all levels.
