Job summary

ProAutomated Inc. is hiring for a travel-focused field engineer role. You’ll support data centers, lead startups, and work directly with customers across North America. The position requires hands-on electrical, mechanical, and control system work, with on-site testing and collaboration with engineers.

Expect regular travel, a four-week paid training period, and merit-based growth. Benefits include per diem, mileage, bonuses, and a path toward salary advancement as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel regularly for customer sites.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and networking.
• Technical degree or 3+ years hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Live within 50 miles of a major airport; relocation assistance available.
• Personal vehicle within 45 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Support data center startups, performing on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks.
• Lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems.
• Partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate systems on-site.
• Provide clear communication and updates to customers and project teams to keep progress smooth and accurate.
• Travel rotations follow a days on/off schedule (e.g., 5 on–2 off, 10 on–4 off, or 14 on–7 off).
