Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a field-based General Maintenance Technician to support multiple stores with maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance, and safety checks across a geographic area.

You will travel to stores, diagnose basic issues, document asset information in CMMS, and educate store leadership on maintenance best practices to extend equipment life and ensure brand consistency.

Qualifications

• Exceptional problem-solving skills to identify and support entry level repairs.
• Basic computer knowledge for CMMS data entry and ticketing.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels – store leadership to executives.
• Unbridled commitment to customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to work with multiple priorities and travel up to 100%.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and pass a motor vehicle background check.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Dollar General sites to address maintenance concerns reported by store leadership.
• Troubleshoot and document asset information for service projects in the district.
• Support entry level maintenance including exterior grounds and safety equipment checks.
• Document tickets and resolve them within the designated time frame.
• Provide training on root causes and preventative maintenance when needed.
• Occasional after-hours work may be required based on urgency.
• Perform on-site checks and educate leadership on operational processes.
