Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Field-based General Maintenance Technician to support maintenance across assigned store locations. You will respond in person to maintenance tickets and perform preventative tasks, traveling regularly to sites and coordinating with store leadership on simple repairs.

You will document asset information in the CMMS, educate leadership on best practices, and help ensure equipment longevity. Occasional after-hours work may be required based on urgent repairs.

Qualifications

• Problem-solving abilities to identify and support entry-level repairs.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Clear communication with all levels of staff and leadership.
• Strong commitment to customer service.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a field environment.
• Store retail experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs+ (e.g., mulch).

Responsibilities

• Travel to specified Dollar General locations to address maintenance concerns.
• Troubleshoot and document asset information for on-site service projects.
• Guide store leadership on basic operational solutions and preventative maintenance.
• Support entry-level maintenance including light exterior grounds tasks and safety equipment reviews.
• Document tickets and resolve within established timeframes.
• Provide on-site training to address root causes when necessary.
• May require occasional after-hours work based on repair urgency.
• Perform on-site checklists to determine preventative maintenance vs. minor repairs and educate leadership.
