TEAM, Inc. is seeking a L3 Field Machinist to lead on-site machining at client facilities across the country. You will operate portable machine tools for flange facing, drilling, tapping, and other on-site tasks while ensuring safety and client requirements are met.
The position involves traveling with the Flying Squad, maintaining certifications, and advancing toward specialty certifications as needed. Must be able to manage full job cycles from planning through completion.
TEAM is a global best-in-class provider of mechanical services to industrial sites and manufacturing facilities. This position is part of TEAM's Traveling Technician Group, known as the Flying Squad: an elite group of technicians dispatched across the country to perform higher-level work where it is needed. The Flying Squad operates within TEAM's MBV group, which spans Field Machining Services, Technical Bolting Services, and Vapor Barrier Services.
The L3 Field Machinist is qualified at the FMS Level III certification (per TRN-1205.1) and serves as a lead technician on job sites. The role covers the full range of portable machine tool operations performed on-site at client facilities, including the largest and most complex applications: flange facing over 60\" OD, drilling and tapping over 2\", cut and bevel of any pipe size, and special preparations. The technician sets up and operates a wide variety of portable machine tools to perform on-site machining and repairs in accordance with approved site and company procedures.
The technician is accountable for the complete job cycle: reviewing the client scope, complying with all safety procedures and job documentation, verifying equipment and tooling before mobilizing, and meeting or exceeding client quality and production expectations. Day-to-day scheduling, dispatch, and issue resolution are coordinated through the MBV scheduler. The technician is responsible for continuous training and development to maintain certification and advance into specialty certifications (C1-C12) as required.
