Position Overview

TEAM is seeking a highly experienced, qualified and technically capable, safety‑focused Field Machinist to supervise, lead and perform various machining work scopes within the service level qualification assigned, provide mentoring to lesser certified personnel.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Compliance with all safety procedures and job documentation.
  • Responsible for the setting up and operation of a wide variety of portable machine tools to perform on‑site machine work at client work sites.
  • The primary role is to supervise, execute and lead field machining operations in accordance with technician certification and company processes, achieving or exceeding quality expectations for:
    • Pipe cutting and bevel
    • Flange facing
    • Drilling and tapping
    • Milling
    • Line boring
    • Key‑way cutting
  • Attend and complete required training to maintain competence and continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  • Identify circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Document all field machining service activities as required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a refinery or plant environment, including ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells (except for non‑field duties).
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, that allow effective communication.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, that allow investigation and inspection.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine office duties.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off‑site locations.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills.
Work Conditions
  • Position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant environment.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
  • Work in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical school, industry or relevant training preferred.
  • One or more years of experience is preferred.
  • Driving license, TWIC card preferred.
