Position Overview

TEAM is seeking an entry level person that has a mechanical aptitude, a good grasp of math, a safety focus, a keen willingness to train and learn, and a strong work ethic to continue a focused career within the service line as a Field Machinist. The selected candidate will receive continuous training and will assist and perform machining work scopes within the service level qualification assigned.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Compliance with all safety procedures and job documentation.
  • Responsible for setting up and operation of a wide variety of portable machine tools to perform on‑site machine work at client sites.
  • The primary role is responsible for executing field machining operations in accordance with the technician certification following company processes and procedures, achieving or exceeding quality expectations for:
  • Pipe cutting and bevel
  • Flange facing
  • Drilling and tapping
  • Milling
  • Line boring
  • Key‑way cutting
  • Shaft turning
  • Metal disintegration bolt removal
  • Attend and complete the required training to maintain competence and continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  • Identify circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment.
  • Document all field machining service activities as required.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard refinery or plant environment, including access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells except when performing non‑field duties.
  • Clear speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, permitting effective communication.
  • Vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, suitable for investigations.
  • Manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, permitting routine office duties.
  • Personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off‑site locations.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills.
Work Conditions
  • Position based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
  • Interaction with crew employees, supervisors, and client personnel.
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Must wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical school, industry or relevant training preferred.
  • One or more years of experience preferred.
  • Driving License, TWIC Card preferred.
