Job summary

RES is seeking a Field Engineer I to support EPC and BOP projects in the utility and renewable energy sectors. You will track construction activities, ensure safety and quality, and travel to project sites across the country.

You will collaborate with engineers, procurement, and construction teams, maintain project documentation, and contribute to lessons learned while upholding safety management and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering or construction management (or equivalent).
• 1+ year of experience in BESS, Substation, Transmission, and/or renewable energy EPC contract experience, preferred.
• Ability to travel 76-100% of the time domestically required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Construction site safety and OSHA requirements.
• Reading prints and drawings and taking off quantities.
• Interpretation of project contracts and schedules, including SOWs, SOVs, and budgets.
• Use of computer software including HeavyJob, Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office suite.
• Interpretation and understanding of project schedules and vendor/materials management.
• Functional competencies include accountability, communication, responsibility/stewardship, teamwork, prioritization, and self-learning.

Responsibilities

• Supports EPC and BOP projects in the utility and renewable energy sector.
• Tracks safety, quality, environmental compliance and project metrics.
• Supports 3-week lookaheads and resource tracking.
• Coordinates procurement of labor, equipment, and materials.
• Maintains project documentation and lessons learned.
• Communicates with clients to manage expectations and relationships.
• Operates company vehicle safely and adheres to SMS, QMS, EMS systems.
