Job summary

Insight Global seeks a traveling Fiber Technician II / Fiber Splicer to support fiber optic infrastructure projects across client environments. Responsibilities include installation, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber networks while operating with moderate independence.

The role travels internationally to Canada and across the United States. The ideal candidate brings hands-on fiber cabling and fusion splicing experience, plus familiarity with testing tools and field

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of experience in fiber optic, telecom, network infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with fiber optic cable installation, routing, termination, and fusion splicing
• Experience performing fiber testing and troubleshooting using tools such as OTDRs, light source/power meters, VFLs, and fiber certification equipment
• Strong understanding of fiber optic network standards, cable management, pathway installation, and industry best practices
• Ability to read and interpret splice diagrams, fiber schematics, test results, and technical documentation

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic networks in client environments
• Support project delivery and mentor junior technicians
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure successful execution
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fiber optic standards and field practices
