Ervin Cable Construction, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to fuse optical fibers and maintain telecom networks. This role involves extensive travel (75%), performing aerial and underground splicing, testing circuits, and ensuring adherence to standards.

The position requires 2+ years of fiber splicing, a valid driver license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. Company benefits are included and growth opportunities exist.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid state driver license with clean record.
• Able to pass a DOT medical exam for a valid medical card.
• At least two years of fiber splicing experience.
• Pole climber certification or proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot circuits post-installation.
• Ensure splicing meets customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths.
• Mid-sheath fibers for entry on loose tube or fiber sheaths.
• Cut away sheath to reach faulty connections and prepare cables.
• Provide guidance to other splicers as needed.
• Daily vehicle maintenance and fluid checks.
• Document work in daily production reports and maps.
• Other duties as assigned.
