Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our telecom construction crew. You will travel across Arizona and surrounding states, joining projects that rotate approximately every four weeks to keep crews productive.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in civil, utility, or roadbuilding excavation, with a solid safety record and the ability to read drawings and locate utilities. This on-site, field role offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of excavator experience in civil construction, roadbuilding, or utility work.
• Experience with fiber optic or underground utilities is a strong asset.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret utility locates.
• Strong understanding of backfill, lift thickness, soil moisture, and compaction.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT 308 mini excavator safely and efficiently on civil projects.
• Excavate around underground utilities following locate procedures.
• Place soil and aggregate in proper lifts for compaction.
• Read plans and interpret utility locations accurately.
• Assist with conduit placement and cable installation to maintain production.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
