Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking experienced Excavator Operators to join our telecom construction crew across Arizona.

Travel to multiple project sites with rotations every four weeks, performing earthwork and conduit installation while maintaining safety on busy civil sites. Ideal candidates have at least 5 years of excavator experience in civil or utility projects, with a strong focus on safe digging, reading drawings, and following locate procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of excavator experience in civil construction, roadbuilding, utility construction or related industry.
• Experience with fiber optic or underground utility installation is a strong asset
• Strong understanding of backfill placement, lift thickness, soil conditions and compaction
• Ability to read drawings and interpret utility locates
• Knowledge of safe digging practices and job site safety standards
• Valid driver’s license
• Physically able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate CAT 308 mini excavator for civil construction and earthwork activities
• Safely excavate around existing underground utilities, following locate and safe-dig procedures
• Place soil and aggregate in appropriate lifts to allow for effective compaction
• Recognize soil types and moisture effects on compaction
• Support crews with conduit placement and cable installation to keep production moving
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance checks
• Perform hands-on laborer duties and crew support—team-first mindset
• Communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors to maintain safe production and meet goals
