Ledcor Group is hiring skilled excavator operators to support telecom construction projects across South Dakota, Arizona, and surrounding states. The role focuses on operating mini excavators and skid steers in civil construction and underground utility work, with responsibilities that include conduit placement, utility locates, and safe digging practices.

You will read construction drawings, assess trench routes, and coordinate with crews to keep production moving.

Qualifikationen

• Five+ years of experience operating mini excavators and skid steers in underground utilities, roadbuilding, or related industries.
• Experience with fiber optic or underground utility installation is an asset.
• Ability to read construction drawings, interpret utility locates, identify conflicts, and assess trench routes before digging.
• Knowledge of backfilling, soil conditions, lift thickness, moisture, and compaction requirements.
• Ability to recognize unsuitable soil, unexpected utilities, and unsafe site conditions.
• Strong understanding of safe digging practices and job site safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Aufgaben

• Safely and efficiently operate mini excavator and skid steers for civil construction and earthwork activities
• Safely excavate around existing underground utilities, following locate and safe-dig procedures
• Place soil and aggregate in lifts to support compaction
• Interpret soil types and moisture for compaction
• Assist with conduit placement and cable installation to maintain production
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
• Assist with hand digging and conduit installation
• Communicate with crew and supervisors to meet daily project goals
