Job summary

Ledcor Group seeks skilled excavator operators to support telecom construction across South Dakota and neighboring states. The role involves operating mini excavators and skid steers, digging around utilities, and assisting with conduit placement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating mini excavators and skid steers in underground utilities, roadbuilding, or related industry.
• Experience with fiber optic or underground utility installation is a plus.
• Ability to read construction drawings and interpret utility locates.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate mini excavator and skid steers for civil construction and earthwork activities.
• Safely excavate around existing underground utilities, following locate and safe-dig procedures.
• Place soil and aggregate in lifts for proper compaction.
• Recognize soil behavior with moisture and compaction.
• Assist with conduit placement and cable installation to keep production moving.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Assist with hand digging and conduit installation.
• Communicate with crew to ensure safe, efficient production and meet daily goals.
