Job summary

Ledcor Group is hiring skilled excavator operators to support our telecom construction projects across Arizona, South Dakota and surrounding states. You will operate mini excavators and skid steers, excavate around utilities, place soil lifts and assist with conduit installation while maintaining safety.

Projects rotate about every four weeks with travel, LOA, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience operating mini excavators and skid steers.
• Experience with fiber optic or underground utility installation is an asset.
• Ability to read construction drawings, interpret utility locates, and assess trench routes.
• Knowledge of backfilling, soil moisture, lift thickness, and compaction requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate mini excavator and skid steers for civil construction and earthwork activities.
• Safely excavate around existing underground utilities, following locate and safe-dig procedures.
• Place soil and aggregate in lifts to allow for proper compaction.
• Assist with conduit placement and cable installation to keep production moving.
• Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance checks on equipment.
• Assist with hand digging and conduit installation.
• Communicate clearly with crew to maintain safe, efficient production and meeting daily goals.
