Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Superintendent for our Industrial and Water market. You will oversee electrical operations on self-performed construction projects, supervise foremen and craft workers, and coordinate with engineers, clients, and suppliers.

Travel to projects across the United States is expected, with per diem and competitive benefits. We emphasize safety, quality, and collaboration as we deliver complex projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ work experience in the self-perform construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a Superintendent role.
• Understanding of state license requirements for journeymen to apprentice ratios for electrical work.
• Advanced knowledge of safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, procurement, estimating.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance.
• Strong leadership, initiative, and mentoring abilities.
• Commitment to safety and high work standards.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical, mechanical, and civil/structural scope of a project as the Superintendent, directing foremen and electrical craft workers while managing productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Serve as liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications and address engineering challenges with PM/CM/technical team.
• Coordinate with other superintendents, subcontractors, inspection companies, the client, and Kiewit staff to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
• Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties; inform project and corporate management as appropriate.
• Assist in schedule planning, determine craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
• Ensure adherence to safety, attendance, and workplace behavior policies and project rules.
• Establish budgetary guidelines and ensure cost control; provide job safety training.
• Establish quality standards and manage job schedules; coordinate with contractors and suppliers; schedule inspections.
