Job summary

RIDE is seeking a skilled Traveling Trainer to deliver comprehensive technical training on electric transit buses to operators and maintenance staff across locations. The role involves 50%–75% travel to transit agencies, depots, and RIDE facilities, with a focus on electrical systems, battery management, propulsion, and charging infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, automotive technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ hands‑on experience with electric transit buses, including electrical systems, propulsion, battery management, and charging systems.
• Extensive knowledge of electric vehicle systems, including DC/AC, battery management, inverters, and charging systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead in‑person technical training sessions on operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electric transit buses.
• Develop, update and enhance training materials, manuals and instructional resources.
• Provide on‑site support and troubleshooting during training events.
• Conduct live demonstrations of bus systems, diagnostic tools, and safety protocols.
• Monitor progress with assessments and provide feedback and additional support as needed.
