Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Telecom Drill Bores Operator in Decorah, IA to operate drill equipment and install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure.

You will develop bore paths, verify utilities, and maintain equipment in all weather conditions while meeting project timelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid state drivers license with clean record.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with drilling equipment and understanding bore design and setup.

Responsibilities

• Determine bore path and locate utilities.
• Operate and control drill equipment to complete tasks.
• Verify utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize mud mixing systems.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Determine bore path and locate utilities
• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path
• Utilize "Mud" mixing systems
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule
• Responsible for site set-up, clean-up, and equipment maintenance
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Traveling Directional Drill Operator TelCom is $24.00 - $35.00.
