Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Traveling Telecom Drill Bores Operator to operate drill equipment and install underground telecommunications cables and infrastructure. You will plan bore paths, locate utilities, and safely run all required equipment across sites, often in varied weather and locations.

Responsibilities include potholing to verify bore paths, performing equipment maintenance, and developing bore schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience with drilling equipment, including capabilities, limitations, and setup/design processes.

• Safely operate and control all necessary equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Verify existing utilities by potholing to determine bore path.
• Utilize mud mixing systems.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for site setup, clean-up, and equipment maintenance.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Up to 100% travel.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Traveling Directional Drill Operator is $24.00 - $35.00.
