Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services, LLC seeks a shop/travel diesel mechanic with strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair medium and heavy-duty diesel systems. The role involves field work across Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Kansas and Colorado, with a shop base in Oklahoma City. Service truck is provided.

You will perform advanced diagnostics, routine maintenance, and first-time repairs with attention to safety and regulatory compliance. ASE certifications are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty truck repair.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems (REQUIRED).
• Strong understanding of aftertreatment systems and diesel emissions components.
• Proven ability to work independently in remote environments with minimal supervision.
• Fabrication and welding experience required.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license required; must be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Willingness to travel frequently across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Travel between job sites to inspect, diagnose, and repair medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, emissions, transmissions, A/C, Hi-Rail, and spray systems.
• Utilize scan tools, diagnostic software, multimeters, pressure gauges, and testing equipment to identify failures.
• Perform routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative services.
• Complete repairs correctly on the first attempt via root-cause analysis.
• Carry out fabrication and welding as required.
• Maintain service truck, tool inventory, and parts accountability; document repairs accurately.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and DOT regulations; work extended hours and in all weather.
