Job summary

Top Tempo Technical in Minneapolis seeks a Traveling Diesel/EV Mechanic to support advanced electric transit buses and other vehicles. This field role involves electrical troubleshooting, installation of systems, and in-field repairs.

You should have 2+ years in electrical or HVAC, be comfortable traveling up to 75% (2–3 weeks), know 12V/24V and 600V systems, and be able to read blueprints and schematics. Hydrogen training or PLC skills are a plus.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC or related field.
Thorough knowledge of 12V/24V, 600V and air conditioning systems.
Ability to travel up to 75% (2–3 weeks at a time).
Experience with buses, trains, heavy equipment or aircraft preferred.
Electrical troubleshooting and field repair experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot electrical, electronic and high voltage issues in transit vehicles.
Install electrical systems and components in transit vehicles.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment.
Read blueprints, schematics and process sheets as required.
Use testing devices (ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, cable testers) for diagnostics.
