Job summary

PEAK Technical Services Inc. in Lincoln, Nebraska seeks an Electrical-mechanical Field Service Technician to support an international transit manufacturer in the field, providing electrical expertise on high voltage transit buses.

You will install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, read blueprints and schematics, travel up to 75% (3–4 weeks), and work with HV and hydrogen-related equipment. Valid driver's license required; HVAC or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electronic, electrical (and some mechanical) issues in high voltage systems.
• Install electrical systems and components in transit vehicles.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment in the field.
• Repair or replace parts, light fixtures, wiring, relays, motors, and other electrical equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems using ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, and cable testers.
• Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.

Work as an Electrical-mechanical Field Service Technician for an international transit manufacturer and parts distributor. This position is responsible for providing electrical expertise in the field on high voltage electric transit buses.

Responsibilities

• Work with advanced electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell technology, troubleshooting electronic, electrical (some mechanical), and high voltage issues, and resolving them.


• Install electrical systems and components in transit vehicles.


• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment.


• Repair or replace parts, light fixtures, wiring, relays, motors, and other types of electrical equipment.


• Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems using a variety of testing devices: ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, cable testers, etc.


• Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.

Qualifications

• Able to travel up to 75% of the time (3-4 weeks at a time).


• 2 years of experience in either electrical, HVAC, or other related fields.


• Thorough knowledge of 12V, 24V, 600V, and air conditioning systems.


• Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of multi-plex systems.


• Ability to work from blueprints, process sheets, schematics, and instructions as required.


• Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience.


• Experience with electrical wiring, circuit testing, troubleshooting, and general repair.


• Solid customer service skills.


• PLC and ladder logic experience preferred.


• High voltage experience and hydrogen training or certification preferred.


• General knowledge of transit bus/hybrid and/or electric drive systems is ideal but not necessary.


• Valid driver's license.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
