Job summary

PEAK Technical Services Inc. is seeking an electrical field technician for a leading international transit manufacturer, focusing on high-voltage electric transit buses in Columbus, OH.

You will troubleshoot complex electrical systems, install and repair components, and work from blueprints and schematics while traveling extensively to client sites.

Qualifications

• E-bus experience is required.
• 2 years of electrical, HVAC, or related technical field experience.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting including wiring, testing, diagnostics and repair.
• Intermediate computer skills and multiplex systems knowledge.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and instructions.
• Solid customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• High-voltage experience and hydrogen training or certification preferred.
• Extensive travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and some mechanical high-voltage issues on transit vehicles.
• Install electrical systems and components on buses.
• Maintain, diagnose, repair electrical equipment and wiring.
• Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, relays, motors, and lighting.
• Use testing equipment (ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, testers) to identify faults.
• Travel to customer sites and work in the field.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with advanced electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell technology, troubleshooting electronic, electrical, and some mechanical high-voltage issues.
• Install electrical systems and components on transit vehicles.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic and electrical equipment.
• Repair or replace wiring, relays, motors, lighting, and other electrical components.
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems using testing equipment, including ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, and cable testers.
• Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.

Job Qualifications
