Job summary

Soliant Health in California is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support learners across the county in a full-time, on-site role.

With a caseload around 30 students, including some with cochlear implants, you will deliver direct instruction, develop IEPs, assess progress, and collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators. Travel between school sites is required; benefits include healthcare, housing, meals, and a 60-day posting window.

Qualifications

• Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education.
• Experience supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss, including those with cochlear implants.
• Ability to travel between multiple school sites within the county.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families.
• Deep understanding of instructional strategies and accommodations for DHH students.
• Commitment to on-site work; remote/virtual services are not part of this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and consultative support to DHH students across multiple school sites.
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs.
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
• Serve as a resource and advocate for best practices at each location.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
• Offer expertise regarding assistive technology and support for students with cochlear implants.
