Job summary

Soliant is seeking an Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide direct instruction across multiple school sites for a maternity leave coverage contract, beginning August 25 for 10–12 weeks. The role emphasizes inclusive education and collaboration with families and staff.

You will travel between campuses, leveraging ASL, FM systems, and cochlear-implant knowledge to tailor instruction to each student’s needs, while navigating IEPs and accommodations effectively.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid OSPI Certification with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement.
• Experience supporting students using cochlear implants and hearing aids.
• Expertise in FM systems and American Sign Language (ASL).
• Prior itinerant teaching experience or willingness to work across multiple school sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and support to DHH students in inclusive and resource settings.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement IEPs.
• Facilitate communication access using appropriate technology and strategies; conduct assessments and monitor progress.
• Advise on accommodations and modifications for DHH learners.
• Serve as a resource and advocate within the school community.
