Job summary

SEEM Collaborative invites applications for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide school-based occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT. The role supports students across SEEM programs and member district schools, promoting independence and participation in educational activities.

The COTA will implement therapy plans, collaborate with classroom staff and families, monitor progress, and assist with Medicaid documentation while traveling between sites

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• NBCOT certification.
• Massachusetts Licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in school-based or pediatric settings preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team across multiple school settings.

Responsibilities

• Implement OT treatment plans addressing fine motor, sensory, and self-regulation needs.
• Provide direct and indirect services to students individually or in small groups.
• Assist with data collection, documentation, and progress monitoring for IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success.
• Adapt classroom materials and equipment to promote participation and access to the curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records for Medicaid reimbursement.
• Participate in team meetings, PD, and supervision with the OT.
• Travel between multiple school sites within SEEM Collaborative and member districts.
